About
Prime Training Journal is an independent editorial publication about the craft of training and adult learning. It follows the choices made before, during and after a learning session, from deciding what matters to reflecting on what has been understood.
A subject with many small decisions
Training is shaped by more than the material being taught. The order of ideas, the balance between explanation and practice, the examples in a handout and the time left for questions all influence how a session feels. We explore these choices as connected parts of learning, rather than as a single formula to follow.
For curious practitioners and learners
The publication is for people who take part in, organise or think about learning at work and elsewhere. Readers may be trainers, facilitators, colleagues sharing a skill or adults returning to a subject. We write for a general audience and aim to make each subject intelligible without assuming specialist credentials.
A measured approach
Our articles favour clear explanations, useful comparisons and ideas readers can consider in their own setting. We distinguish general editorial discussion from professional or official requirements, and do not present one method as right for every room, subject or learner.
Learning grows through attention and practice.
A well-shaped session is a beginning, not a promise. We look at the choices that give people room to understand, try and reflect.
